Overview
For Us. By Sonder 2025 is a visual campaign for Juneteenth and Men's Mental Health Awareness Month that centers the emotional lives of Black men through the lens of joy, reflection, and connection. Rooted in the concept of sonder— the realization that each person carries a world as vivid and complex as your own — the campaign invites audiences to witness the quiet wonders of the Black experience. The project features a short film blending serene park scenes, and intimate interviews with Black men sharing what brings them joy. Accompanying the film are hand painted oil portraits based on photographs of three individuals, offering a timeless tribute to presence and personhood. Shared across social media, For Us, By Sonder affirms that Black men deserve to be deeply seen, heard, and held in all their complexity.
